ARE INDOOR ETHANOL FIREPLACES SAFE?

THE CONCERNS ARE FINALLY ANSWERED.

In a bid to produce the safest fireplaces, Planika carried out a number of tests on various types of ethanol fireplaces to find out how technological solutions and types of materials used in these products affect the safety of use. The results were clear – only advanced automatic indoor fireplaces can ensure true safety.

AUTOMATIC AND MANUAL ETHANOL FIREPLACES – THE DISTINCTION IS CRUCIAL

SIMILAR LOOK – DIFFERENT INSIDE

Architects and interior designers compete in creating outstanding interior arrangements with fire. Due to the endless customization options or the impossibility of connecting a chimney, they often recommend an ethanol fireplace. It’s always the best option, as long as they remember to choose wisely and treat safety as a priority.

Unfortunately, due to the lack of appropriate knowledge, designers happen to choose a cheap and poor-quality product, which can cause major problems and dangers, damaging the reputation of the bio fireplaces industry.

IS ETHANOL DANGEROUS?

Some may suggest that ethanol may not be a fully safe source of energy. Obviously, it is not the fuel but fire that causes the risk. Just like wood scattered around the room should not be the cause for concerns – until someone sets it on fire.

Bio ethanol of plant origin is a fully renewable and green source of energy. While burning, it does not produce any smoke, smell or ash and the emission of carbon dioxide is insignificant. Also, no other carcinogenic substances are produced during the burning process, as opposed to other type of fireplaces.

What can be dangerous however is the direct contact between the flame and the fuel – just as in manual products. That may cause the boiling fuel to splash around the burner or unexpectedly burst into flames. Such fires are also extremely vulnerable to slight airblows, creating fireballs and setting the surrounding things alight.

Planika eliminated all the above. In the combustion process, only the ethanol vapours have a direct contact with the fire, guaranteeing always stable and safe flames.

FIREPLACE CONTROL SYSTEM – AUTOMATIC MEANS SAFE

The first and the biggest difference between Planika’s product and the other type of an ethanol fireplace is that you have no actual control over the flame while using the latter one. While burning the temperature of fuel rises in an uncontrolled way, and eventually starts to boil. All you can do is to turn the fire on and off (or wait until the fuel runs out). Burning Ethanol Vapours technology and integrated safety sensors used in the advanced automatic models offered by Planika, provide balanced fuel temperature. The whole process of producing vapours and the operation of the fireplace stays under control. The microprocessor with the whole electronic system allows to control and regulate the flame height with a convenient control panel, remote or mobile devices.

QUALITY OF USED MATERIALS AND HEAT RESISTANCE

Under high temperature, cheap manual fireplaces made of poor quality materials tend to deform, causing irreversible damage to the device. What’s even worse, when exposed to heat, some materials may emit soot and smoke, which are extremely harmful to your health. By choosing certified advanced fireplaces, you are sure that your and your family’s safety is protected.

HOW SAFE ARE AUTOMATIC ETHANOL FIREPLACES?

THE PATENTED BEV TECHNOLOGY

Planika’s ethanol fireplaces utilizing the patented BEV Technology™ are the most advanced and the safest products available on the market. We are the provider of the only solution that ensures the cleanest possible burning process without any smoke, smell or ash. The BEV Technology™ makes all the difference, giving unlimited arrangement possibilities and the safest fire in the world.

AUTOMATIC REFILL SYSTEM

Planika is the first company that implemented the Automatic Refill System as a standard accessory for the fireplaces. The specially designed pump communicates with the device, delivering the necessary amount of fuel. This way, the risk of overfilling of the tank and fuel spillage has been effectively eliminated.
